An Elizabeth City man died Wednesday after his pick up crashed into a logging truck about three miles northwest of Elizabeth City, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Ricky Warren, 49, was killed when his Dodge pick up, traveling south on Main Street Extended , crashed into the front axle of a logging truck that was turning north onto the street at about 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sgt. C.T. Griffin said.
Warren was driving home at the time.
The investigation is continuing, but troopers think Warren did not see the loaded logging truck, which was driven by Victor Blunt, 37, of Hertford, Griffin said.
A witness left the accident scene before speaking with troopers, and the highway patrol is asking that person to call (252) 331- 4749.
