Efforts to rescue 20 trapped miners continues in north China gypsum mine
SHIJIAZHUANG, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Rescuers are continuing their efforts to save the 20 miners who are still trapped underground in a gypsum mine in Hebei Province since Sunday night.
Rescuers have found the bodies of 18 miners and saved 19 others so far.
The accident happened at around 7:20 p.m. Sunday at the Kangli Gypsum Mine of Shangwang Village in Xingtai City, southern Hebei Province, according to the Xingtai City government. It also triggered the collapse of residential buildings of two adjacent gypsum mines.
Investigation into the cause of the accident is also underway.
