Gasoline Prices Still Falling in Fort Worth

Nov. 11--Fort Worth area gasoline prices continued to plummet this week, dropping by 10.8 cents to $2.25 per gallon, AAA Texas said Thursday. The statewide average for self-serve unleaded also fell 10.8 cents to $2.27 per gallon. Crude-oil futures fell below $58 a barrel for the first time since July, settling at $57.80 in New York.

"Unless there is a disruption in the availability of gasoline, prices are expected to continue to drop throughout the Thanksgiving holiday," AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau said.

Tarrant County's record price of $3.02 per gallon was set the week of Sept. 4 after disruptions in supply caused by Hurricane Katrina. The average price a year ago was $1.87.
