ExxonMobil is One of the Five Large Oil Concerns, Which Considerably Increased Their Profit During 3Q 2005

ExxonMobil (EM) (USA), oil concern, is one of the five large oil concerns, which considerably increased their net profit during 3Q 2005. EM, Chevron (USA), British Petroleum (UK), Shell Oil (USA) and Total (France) increased their total net profit by 52% to more than USD 33 bil during 3Q 2005 compared to 3Q 2004. Legislators in the USA invited the chiefs of the five largest oil concerns, which do business in the USA, on 09 Nov 2005. Senators wanted to know, what can the oil concerns do to prevent the shock with oil supplies, which affected the USA after the huricanes in Aug and Sep 2005. The huricanes stopped oil exploitation in the Mexican Gulf. At the meeting on 09 Nov 2005, senators recommended to the concerns to increase their investments in oil exploitation and processing, the support of so called green technology and to decrease the financing of the return purchase of shares.
