Two miners missing in northwest China coal mine collapse
XI’AN, Nov.17 (Xinhua) — Two miners went missing after one drilling passage of a local coal mine in Fugu County, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, collapsed on Wednesday.
Information from Coal Industry Bureau of Fugu County said the accident happened around 12:00 hours Wednesday at Fuyu Coal Mine in Xinmin Township of Fugu, a county in northern Shaanxi, trapping nine miners who were working around the drilling passage.
Seven of the trapped miners have been rescued alive.
Searching is still going on for the two missing.
Fuyu Coal Mine is one of the 300 coal mines that were ordered to halt production for improvement of work safety in September this year. It obtained a license for work safety in October and resumed production after having survived an inspection in early this month.
