Uae Companies Invest Fars Gas Power Plant Construction

November 22, 2005

According to “Tehran Times”, two private sector companies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will soon begin the construction operations of a gas power plant in Fars Province. The companies’ investment would be on the Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis. The 735-megawatt power plant consists of six gas units each capable of generating 157 megawatts of electricity, TAVANIR (Iran’s Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Management Co.) website reported. It is the first time in Iran that a power plant invested by foreign companies is fully built by domestic contractors and developers, the report added.
