Transpetro Successfully Implements Energy Solutions' Integrated Pipeline System

Energy Solutions(R) International, the Houston-based leading global supplier of oil and gas pipeline management software, and Transpetro, the Petrobras System transportation company, have successfully implemented an integrated suite of Energy Solutions' PipelineManager(R) and Pipeline Transporter(R) products for Transpetro's natural gas operations. Transpetro, which operates 1,786 miles of gas pipelines in Brazil, chose the combination of PipelineManager and PipelineTransporter to enable the growth of its business.

"This project was completed ahead of schedule so we are eager to go live with the system and see the results," said Alexandre Tepedino, Transpetro senior pipeline engineer-advisor/project manager. "The support from Energy Solutions should help us meet our business goals in the future."

Transpetro will use Energy Solutions' systems on two of its largest pipeline networks, the Northeast and Southeast. PipelineTransporter will gather nominations from Transpetro's shippers. These nominations will then automatically be consolidated and fed into the PipelineManager system where the predictive modeling capability will simulate the affect of the nominations to ensure that pipeline demand can be met. Approved nominations will be routed back from the PipelineManager simulation to PipelineTransporter for gas movement scheduling and invoicing. This system will allow Transpetro to extend its services to other transporters and shippers that it was unable to reach before.
