Windfarm 'Threat' to Birds

A PROPOSAL to put the world's biggest onshore wind farm on a Scottish island will "seriously threaten" wildlife, say the RSPB.
The peatland area on Lewis is the best in Europe for certain species of birds, the charity said. And as British Energy and Amec meet MSPs today to discuss the farm, it is calling on the Executive to reconsider the plan.
Western Isles councillors backed proposals for the 209 turbine development in July.
