Marathon PGM Corporation Announces Drilling Results in Main Zone, Including 2 M Grading 15.93 G/T PGM +Gold and 1.12 % Copper

Posted on: Thursday, 8 December 2005, 18:00 CST

Marathon PGM Corporation ("the Company") (TSX VENTURE:MAR) is pleased to announce assay results of seven additional drill holes from the Company's recently completed 2005 exploration program. All of the drilling results reported in this press release were from the 1.9 km Main Zone.

The Main Zone drilling results continue to be better than expected in areas with low drill density. Drill holes M-05-109 and M-05-112 both intersected much better grades and thicknesses than predicted from the closest drilled holes. M-05-109, with 18 metres grading 3.14 g/t PGM and gold and 0.36 % copper, extends a zone with similar high grades 60 metres down-dip and 50 metres along strike. M-05-112 had two very good intercepts, including 28 metres grading 2.11 g/t PGM and gold and 0.43 % copper and a lower zone of 14 m grading 3.29 g/t PGM and gold and 0.57 % copper. This lower zone interval includes an exceptionally well mineralized section of 2 metres grading 15.93 g/t PGM and gold with 0.57 % copper.

Drill holes M-05-104, 105, 107 and 108 are all from the same area of the Main Zone. M-05-104 is a definition hole to determine the eastern volcanic contact and did not cut through the entire mineralized section. Drill holes M-05-105 and 108 have better grades than expected, and M-05-107 is about the same as expected.

In general, there appears to be an upgrading of grades of palladium and platinum as more holes are added to the Main Zone. The same effect was noticed during drilling of the Main Zone in 2001. This may be the result of the more recent core being a larger diameter than the older core and giving a larger and more representative sample.

The Company has 18 additional drill holes remaining to report from the 2005 exploration program, with the majority taken from the BR and Malachite Zones. All platinum, palladium and gold assays are complete on these drill holes, and the results of copper, nickel and silver assays are imminent. The Company is revising the resource on the Main Zone, which contains the majority of the property's resource, and expects to release a revised resource early in the first quarter of 2006.

All exploration work is being performed under the guidance and supervision of Phillip C. Walford, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, a Professional Geologist and Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. All of the samples were sent to Accurassay, an accredited laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ontario, to be assayed. Further Company information may be found on the Web Site at http://www.marathonpgm.com.

On Behalf of the Board of Directors, "Phillip C. Walford" President, CEO & Director
