Beginning of Work on Project to Build Factory to Process Liquid Natural Gas

The Yemen News Agency reported on the ceremony marking the beginning of work on the project to build a factory to process liquid natural gas in the Balhaf area of the Shabwa District
. The ceremony was held in late October 2005 with the participation of Yemen Oil Minister Dr. Rashid Salih Barba' who said that investments in this project came to $3.7 billion and that it will reach twenty square kilometers and include units to produce and distribute liquid natural gas. A 380 kilometer pipeline will be laid as part of this project, which is expected to begin operations in late 2008.Source: Info-Prod Research (Middle East)
