Palmarejo Gold Corporation Changes Name to 'Palmarejo Silver and Gold Corporation' but Will Continue Trading Under Stock Symbol 'PJO'

Palmarejo Gold Corporation (TSX VENTURE:PJO) announced today that it is changing its name to PALMAREJO SILVER AND GOLD CORPORATION. The purpose of the name change is to more accurately reflect the asset base of the Company, specifically the silver and gold resources identified by the Company on its projects in Chihuahua, Mexico. The Company's common shares will start trading under the new name on December 19, 2005 but the trading will continue under the same symbol "PJO".
