Dec. 20--The Washington State Department of Ecology lifted a statewide air quality advisory Monday because a change in weather improved air circulation.
Ecology issued the advisory Dec. 9 because stagnant air was trapping smoke particles and pollution in low-lying areas.
Air quality remained good to moderate in Bellingham throughout the advisory.
For current air quality information in Whatcom, Island and Skagit counties, go to www.nwcleanair.org or call (800) 622-4627. Skagit County residents should call 428-1617.
