EBR tree recycling program starts Dec. 26
Christmas tree recycling will start Monday at several locations across East Baton Rouge Parish, and will be open through Jan. 23.
The curbside collection of trees will run Jan. 12 through Jan. 14 and Jan. 19 through Jan. 21. Trees placed on the curb from Monday through Jan. 12 will remain there.
Tinsel, stands, lights and ornaments should be removed. The trees will be used for community beautification and coastal restoration.
The drop-off sites are at Independence Park, 7500 Independence Blvd.; Highland Road Park, 14024 Highland Road; Forest Park, 13900 S. Harrells Ferry Road; North Sherwood Forest Park, 3140 N. Sherwood Forest Drive; Wal-Mart, 10606 N. Mall; Wal-Mart, 2171 ONeal Lane; Pecue Wood Recycling Facility, 9455 Pecue Lane; Scenic Highway Wood Recycling Facility, 12601 Scenic Highway; and Skip Bertman Drive in the lot across from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine.
