Dec. 28--Odessa police officers seized 520 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $260,000 during a traffic stop Friday.
Julio Ceasar Orona, 18, of Odessa, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, Sgt. Bob Forbus said.
Ector County Sheriff's Office's Sgt. Gary Duesler said Orona posted a $25,000 surety bond at 12:10 p.m. Christmas Day and was released from the Ector County Detention Center.
After getting consent to search the vehicle Friday, officers found the marijuana in a toolbox on the bed of the pickup, according to reports. Narcotics and Vice Unit officers were called in and they found marijuana in false compartments throughout the pickup, according to the report.
