Bridgestone Opening a New Plant in China

According to fdi.gov.cn: The world’s second largest tire maker from Japan Bridgestone announced on December 27th to invest about 100 million USD in a new synthetic rubber plant in China to meet its growing market demand. Bridgestone said the new plant would be located in Huizhou, Guangdong province. Once it starts producing in the first half of 2008, it will generate 50,000 tons of styrene- butadiene rubber per year. It further explained the new plant was set up to satisfy the growing international demand on synthetic rubber used to produce tires.
