ProTeam, Inc., a Boise-based leader in commercial vacuum systems, is partnering with Florida's Department of Environmental Protection to provide indoor air quality technology to hotels in the Florida Green Lodging Program.
ProTeam pioneered the development of highly efficient backpack vacuums that transformed the commercial market, and its full line of vacuums includes state-of-the-art HEPA-media upright vacuum cleaners. The company also is a corporate leader in promoting cleaning systems that improve indoor air quality and enhance health and safety.
"The last thing anyone wants while vacationing or attending a conference in Florida is to get sick because of poor indoor air quality or cleaning," said Mathew M. Wood, ProTeam president. "Our efforts in supporting these hotels and resorts striving to achieve or maintain Green Lodging Certification is to not only provide quality vacuums, but expertise in efficient and effective cleaning that improves air quality."
Florida's DEP Secretary Colleen M. Castille commented on the agreement that ProTeam's environmental commitment serves as a challenge to the entire lodging industry to adopt innovative ecological practices and conserve resources.
Florida has more than 4700 hotels and resorts that host more than 35 million guests annually according to the agreement. ProTeam will offer discounts to Green Lodging Program candidates and participants and agrees to give preference to certified Florida Green Lodges for conferences and meetings.
The Florida Green Lodging Program is an effort by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to encourage the lodging industry to conserve and protect Florida's natural resources. This Program acknowledges and promotes lodging facilities that demonstrate water and energy conservation, waste minimization, recycling, indoor air quality, environmentally preferable purchasing, program sustainability, and pollution prevention.
