Atlantis Plastics Estimates Tax Breakdown of $12.50 One-Time Special Dividend

Atlantis Plastics, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATPL) paid a special, one-time cash dividend of $12.50 per common share on April 8, 2005. The Company estimates that $7.06 of the dividend will be classified as a qualified dividend, with the remaining $5.44 of the dividend classified as a return of capital. The final determination will be made upon completion of the 2005 audit and published before February 28, 2006. The Company does not make any guarantees as to the ultimate tax treatment, and advises stockholders to consult their tax advisors.
Atlantis Plastics, Inc. is a leading U.S. manufacturer of polyethylene stretch and custom films and molded plastic products. Stretch films are used to wrap pallets of materials for shipping or storage. Custom films are made-to-order specialty film products used in the industrial and packaging markets. Atlantis' injection molded and profile extruded plastic products are used primarily in the appliance, automotive, agricultural, building supply, and recreational vehicle industries.
