Russia's Daily Oil Production Falls Due to Low Temperatures

Posted on: Wednesday, 18 January 2006, 21:00 CST

MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Russia produced 1.28 million tonnes of crude oil on January 17, a drop of 4,200 tonnes from the previous day, the Fuel and Energy Complex Central Dispatch Department reported.

Longer idle periods due to severe temperatures were reported at LUKOIL-Kogalymneftegaz (down 500 tonnes,) at Samaraneftegaz (down 300 tonnes) and at Samotlorneftegaz of TNK - BP (down 400 tonnes.)

Orenburgneft produced 2,400 tonnes less than usual as a result of an electricity shutdown and low temperatures.

Zapolyarneft of Sibneft oil company blamed "technical factors" for lower oil yields.

The Central Dispatch Department also said that no accidents or emergency situations had been registered in oil production or transportation.
