Pipeline & Gas Journal: INGAA President to Be Keynoter at Pipeline Conference
Donald Santa, president and CEO of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA), will be the keynote speaker at the Pipeline Opportunities Conference on February 28, 2006 at the Hilton Americas Hotel in Houston.
Santa, a former member of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), will speak at the luncheon about activities on Capitol Hill which will have a bearing on new and planned pipeline projects, said Jeff Share, Editor of Pipeline & Gas Journal, which is sponsoring the conference. INGAA is the lobbying group that represents nearly all of the major gas transmission companies in North America.
“Don Santa has long been one of the most knowledgeable and respected energy officials in Washington, DC. With energy on the front-burner today, he’ll have a lot of important information for attendees,” Share said.
The day-long conference will feature panel presentations involving executives from many of the leading pipeline companies in North America. One panel will consist of executives from midstream companies including Enbridge Partnership; Duke Energy Field Services; Louis Dreyfus Energy Services and CrossTex Energy.
“This is a segment of the industry that is growing in importance, yet still remains somewhat of a mystery to many even though it’s responsible for many new projects,” Share said.
Executives from Saudi Aramco, KBR and CenterPoint Energy will discuss “Industry Changes Mean New Opportunities For Pipeline Companies.” Energy specialists from the law firm of Beirne Maynard & Parsons L.L.P. will advise on “Avoiding Litigation In The Energy/Pipeline Industry.” Dr. Michael Economides, editor of The Energy Tribune, will provide an international outlook of the pipeline industry.
Sam Brothwell, Director, Power & Gas Equity Research for Wachovia Securities and one of the leading analysts in the pipeline industry, will moderate a session entitled “North American Pipelines: Opportunities For Everyone.” Those on the roundtable will include Guy Buckley, Group Vice President of Duke Energy; Randy Barnard, Sr. Vice President of Operations for Williams Gas Pipeline; Norman Holmes, Vice President Business Development for Southern Natural Gas; Ron Turner, Executive Vice President TransCanada, and David Halphen, Vice President Commercial Development & Special Projects for Enbridge.
“These executives know as much, if not more, about pipeline projects than anyone in North America. Not only will they discuss construction, but the factors driving the work are just as important for us to understand,” Share said. Their topics will include the proposed multibillion-dollar Alaska North Slope and Mackenzie Valley pipeline projects.
The conference is co-sponsored by INGAA along with Business Wire; Cox School of Business; Beirne Maynard & Parsons L.L.P; Quorum Business Solutions; The Hall Group; SpectraSensors; T.D. Williamson, Inc., and Tuboscope Pipeline Services.
