FRANKLIN, Tenn. - July 21, 2005 - A magazine aimed at foodies will reach 6 million homes beginning this February. Publishing Group of America, whose American Profile weekly is distributed by local newspapers, will launch a monthly food magazine called Relish. The title will reach its 6 million circulation via daily newspapers, marking the first time that an independent, mass-circulation monthly will be distributed by newspapers.
"Relish is a breakthrough proposition," said Dick Porter, chief executive officer of Publishing Group of America. "We can launch without the circulation and distribution costs that are crippling traditional magazines, and we can offer advertisers a new level of flexibility, targeting and accountability."
Relish will celebrate America's love of food with non-celebrity features on cooking, dining and entertaining--from formal dinner parties to tailgates to rural roadside restaurants--as well as tips on cooking and kitchen products.
