Gas Supplies to Georgia May Be Restored on Jan 28 – Kavkaztransgaz

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Jan 27 (Interfax) – Gas deliveries to Georgia via the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia pipeline that was damaged in a January 22 series of explosions may be resumed on Saturday, Kavkaztransgas general director Vasily Zinovyev told Interfax.
“Gas engineers plan to launch assembling operations on the damaged section of the main pipeline on Friday. Steps will also be taken to prepare the slop system,” he said.
“We are entering the final stage of repairs that will allow us to restore gas deliveries, after which work will continue,” Zinovyev said.
“We plan to resume gas deliveries on Saturday,” he said.
