Russia Ups Gas Production 0.7% in Jan

MOSCOW. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Russia edged gas production up 0.7% year-on-year to 59.26 billion cubic meters (bcm) in January 2006, the Fuel and Energy Central Dispatch Center said.
Gazprom, the country's gas monopoly, produced 50.138 bcm in January, down 0.6% from January 2005.
Novatek, one of Russia's biggest independent gas producers, pumped 2.48 bcm of gas in January and other oil and gas companies produced 1.92 bcm last month.
Vertically integrated oil companies produced 4.64 bcm of gas in January. They include Surgutneftegas with 1.278 bcm, Rosneft with 1.266 bcm, and TNK-BP - 769 million cubic meters.
