Caithness Energy has won another round in its effort to build a power plant in Yaphank.New York State Supreme Court Judge R. Bruce Cozzens Jr. this week denied Atlantic Point Properties’ application for a temporary restraining order, which could have blocked the project. There’s still a big question mark over how the plant will get fuel, however, since there’s no pipeline leading to its planned location. The Federal Energy Regulatory Energy Commission is considering a permit that would extend the Iroquois pipeline 22 miles to the plant. LIPA Chief of Staff Ed Grilli said he thinks the proposal will get the permit.
