AK Steel Announces Price Increase for Stainless Hot-Rolled Products

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AK Steel said today that it will increase transaction prices for all hot-rolled stainless steel sheet, strip, tubular-quality and continuous mill plate products by approximately 6%, effective with shipments on February 19, 2006. The increase will be accomplished through a two point reduction in the functional discount rate.
The price increase is in response to significant increases in manufacturing, energy and transportation costs, and to support capital investments.
Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
