Modine Volunteers for U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Program to Reduce Priority Chemicals

Modine Manufacturing Company (NYSE:MOD), a world leader in developing heating and cooling solutions for the agriculture, automotive, truck, heavy-duty and industrial markets, announced today that it is voluntarily participating in a United States Environmental Protection Agency program aimed at reducing the use of 31 priority chemicals.

Seventy facilities nationwide are participating in the U.S. EPA's National Partnership for Environmental Priorities (NPEP) program. Modine will have four locations: Pemberville, Ohio; Jackson, Mississippi; Jefferson City, Missouri; and Harrodsburg, Kentucky targeting the elimination of several priority chemicals used in the manufacturing process.

"Companies participating in the program establish goals to reduce certain chemicals and/or the waste generated. Modine is happy to participate because one of our five Global Commitments is to focus on Corporate Citizenship, which includes more environmentally friendly use of chemicals," said Gary Fahl, Vice President, Environmental, Safety and Security.

Over the past two months, representatives of the U.S. EPA's regional offices in Chicago, Kansas City and Atlanta have visited three of the Modine facilities participating in the NPEP program. During these visits, the U.S. EPA presented plaques to the plant managers in recognition of their participation in the program, and to formally kick-off this initiative.
