WALNUT, Calif. and HARBIN, China, Feb. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Songzai International Holding Group, Inc. (Songzai) (BULLETIN BOARD: SGZI) , a company that develops coal mining opportunities in China for the industrial and home use markets, announced today that it has completed the final phase of testing on a new environmentally-friendly briquette for use in both industrial and consumer applications. The Company reports that test results showed Songzai's new briquette produced 5,000 calories per kilogram ("cpk") (approximately 20 BTUs) and burned for 10 hours with 20 BTU per kilogram in China. The announcement was made today by Mr. Hong Jun Li, CEO of Songzai.
Songzai's briquette surpasses the 3,500 cpk briquette (approximately 14 BTUs) introduced by the Environmental Protection Bureau of Harbin, China. That briquette, though environmentally-friendly, does not produce enough calories for industrial use and is generally used for residential heating.
The Company's new briquette is particularly important given the fact that industrial use of coal in China is among the highest in the world. The market for briquettes in Harbin was approximately 200,000 tons in 2003 and approximately 500,000 tons in 2004. The 2005 figure is projected to be 800,000 tons.
Songzai's environmentally-friendly briquette is produced utilizing Songzai's proprietary technology from byproducts and waste of coal production, crude oil production, and other materials. The briquettes can be manufactured in a variety of shapes and are appropriate for use in industrial furnaces, gas generation stoves and heating furnaces in both commercial, industrial and consumer applications. Songzai has filed for patent protection for this new technology.
The Company expects to price its new briquette at between 600 RMB to 620 RMB ($75-$77 USD per ton).
