Plan to Increase Production of Oil and Natural Gas

A-Sharq newspaper quoted data on the plan to increase production of crude oil and natural gas in Egypt during 2006 and 2007 in order to encourage companies and investors to invest in oil and natural gas explorations, as published in late January 2006 in a report by the Parliamentary Committee on Energy and Industry
. The plan includes increasing crude oil and liquid natural gas production to 75 million metric tons of oil, up 11 million metric tons, and production of 37 million metric tons of liquid natural gas, up 8 million metric tons, as well as refining 31 million metric tons of oil in various refineries nationwide.Source: Info-Prod Research (Middle East)
