AK Steel Announces Price Increase for Aluminum Coating Extras

Posted on: Tuesday, 21 February 2006, 15:01 CST

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio, Feb. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AK Steel said today that it will increase prices for aluminum coatings by approximately 50%, effective with shipments on April 1, 2006. The premium is being added to AK Steel's current pricing extras for all aluminized carbon and stainless steel products.

AK Steel said that the increase is being made in order to recover the extraordinary rise in the cost of aluminum that is used to coat its aluminized steel sheet products.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
