ISSUES: Out & ABOUT – Moths in Decline
February 23, 2006
MOTH numbers in Wales have plummeted 44% since 1968, a new report by UK charity Butterfly Conservation says.
The decline poses knock-on risks for many species of birds, bats and invertebrates that feed on them, it says.
The precise cause has yet to be determined, though habitat loss and climate change are implicated.
