Opec Debates Reducing Oil Production Prior to Spring 2006
February 26, 2006
Al-Khaleej newspaper quoted Iranian representatives to OPEC, Hussein Kadhim Dor Ardabili, who said in early January 2006 that an OPEC Conference will be held during January 2006 and that those attending will debate the reduction of oil production in anticipation of a reduced demand for oil in the spring of 2006. He estimated that there will be daily surplus production of 8.1 million barrels in Spring 2006, if production is not reduced.
