Saudi Oil Minister Announces Gas Discovery

Riyadh, 28 February: The minister of petroleum and mineral resources eng. Ali Bin Ibrahim al-Nu'aymi has announced a new discovery of gas flowing at an average of 27 million cubic feet per day in the eastern region in the kingdom.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), he pointed out that Saudi Arabian oil company /Saudi Aramco/ tested on February 27 a well "Mudrikah 3", 27 km south of Ghawar field and nearly 240 km southeastern Riyadh [?southeast of Riyadh], noting that the gas is associated by 932 barrels of condensates per day.
Studies conducted on the test show that the well's producing capacity might exceed 50 million cubic feet per day, Al-Nu'aymi said.
