Indonesia raises price for fuel oil, kerosene
JAKARTA, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia is to increase prices of fuel oil and kerosene, and to decrease the prices of premium and diesel oil for industry in March, spokesman of the state oil firm Pertamina Muhammad Harun said in a statement here Tuesday.
The government does not provide subsidy on the oil price for industry.
"..starting at 0:00, the prices will (change)," he said.
Indonesia is to increase prices of fuel oil by 6.6 percent to 3, 603.83 rupiah (about 36 cents) per liter, kerosene by 0.1 percent to 5,747.96 rupiah (some 57.5 cents) per liter, due to the rise of demand in Asian market, said Harun.
But, he said that the prices of premium would decrease by 0.64 percent to 4,898.69 rupiah (some 48.99 cents) per liter, diesel 3. 2 percent to 5,043.92 rupiah (about 50,4 cents) per liter.
The decrease was caused by the decline of the global oil prices, which currently reaches to 66 US dollars per barrel, said Harun.
Based on the fluctuation of the oil price in the international market, Pertamina would make adjustment on the oil price for industry of non-subsidy from once a month to twice, starting in March, said the spokesman.
However, he said that the prices of subsidied premium, diesel, kerosene for household consumption, would not change.
