Police Probe Death of 4-Month-Old

Mar. 3–AKRON — Akron police and Summit County medical investigators are looking into the death of a 4-month-old boy.

The cause of death has not been determined. An autopsy is planned for this afternoon.

Shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, police received a call that the infant was not breathing. Officers and paramedics rushed to the home of the baby’s family in the 800 block of North Howard Street.

The child was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:35 a.m. Thursday, according to the medical examiner’s office.
