Mar. 5--Barnes & Noble is closing its Grapevine location next month and moving to the soon-to-be expanded Southlake Town Square.
The bookseller will close April 18 at Grapevine Towne Center, near Texas 26 and Texas 114.
It will open the next day in a 32,000-square-foot store at Southlake Town Square, said Abbe Ruttenberg Serphos, spokeswoman for New York-based Barnes & Noble.
The new location is part of the Town Center's Grand Avenue expansion, which will add a Cheesecake Factory, a 14-screen theater, an Apple Computer store, a Hilton hotel and dozens of other retailers and restaurants.
The shops will open April 8.
The marketing to fill the Grapevine space has begun, according to the Dallas-based company leasing out the space.
"We are actively talking to many interested parties, who are attracted to Grapevine Towne Center because of its visibility, excellent co-tenancy and strong customer traffic," Earl Harris, vice president with the Weitzman Group, said in a statement.
Steaking out Grapevine
Bob's Steak and Chop House is the first restaurant to sign on officially to the concept of an upscale restaurant cluster planned near the northeast corner of Texas 114 and Main Street in Grapevine.
Construction on the 8,500-square-foot restaurant will start in early April, said Steve Hartnett, who is developing the restaurant sites, called the Epicenter.
Hartnett is the founder and major shareholder in the Fox & Hound English pubs and the Cool River Cafe steakhouses.
Paul Guernsey with the Hartnett Group is marketing the land for sale or lease for four or five fine-dining restaurants with various cuisines.
They will be connected in the middle by a common outdoor deck.
"We're going to get the best of each class of restaurant," Hartnett said.
Take-and-bake pizza
The first Northeast Tarrant County location of Papa Murphy's take-and-bake pizza has opened at 8420 Denton Highway, Suite 111, in Watauga.
Jeff Fosdick and Jim McMurdo opened the franchise location serving a variety of pizzas that customers bake at home.
Offerings include a spinach-and-artichoke vegetarian pizza and a 16-inch, two-layer Chicago-style pizza that weighs about 5 pounds.
The bar's open
Patrons who pull up to the bar at the Village at Colleyville's newest shop are probably looking for polished nails and good conversation.
At the Nail Bar, customers sit side by side at the bar to have their nails done.
The spa also does pedicures and sells products to enhance nails and skin, according to a news release from the shopping center.
Paula Sherley and her daughter, Kassidy Sherley, opened their nail salon at 16 Village Lane, Suite 180.
