To commemorate the 9th National Environment Day that was observed recently, the Department of Public Relations, Promotions and Exhibitions of Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zones Corporation (PCFC) organized an event titled "Wastes Sound Management Rationalization of Resources and Wealth,' at the main office of Dubai Customs.
The event, organized in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, was held as part of PCFC's commitment towards maintaining a healthy and clean environment. In an effort to create more awareness about the importance of preserving the environment, PCFC distributed brochures and leaflets containing information related to environmental protection.
"PCFC has always remained at the forefront of the environmental protection drive in the UAE, and we have been meticulous in ensuring that all our facilities and operations comply with the most stringent environmental standards. The event we organized to commemorate National Environment Day was in keeping with our commitment to strive towards a more environmentally-aware society," Maryam Al Shamsi, Coordinator of the Department of Society and Government Relations, PCFC, said.
"The brochures and leaflets distributed during the event contained valuable tips on how to keep the environment clean, and served as an effective environment guide for individuals," Al Shamsi ,added.
A contest was organized as part of the event, wherein participants were required to answer the question "How can you become an environment employee?' Dubai Municipality is reviewing the answers received to decide the winners, who will be handed out exciting prizes. 2006 Al Bawaba (www.albawaba.com)
