Network Chemistry Names T. Paul Thomas As Chief Executive Officer

Posted on: Tuesday, 14 March 2006, 09:00 CST

Network Chemistry, the wireless security experts, announced today the appointment of T. Paul Thomas as chief executive officer. Thomas has over 20 years of technology industry experience and proven ability to maximize results in dynamic markets. He will be responsible for managing the company's rapid growth and accelerating its marketing and sales activities into new vertical and geographic markets.

Thomas comes to Network Chemistry with an established track record of leading both start-ups and large, public technology companies to great success. Thomas replaces Robert Markovich, who will remain with the company as chief evangelist and as a board member. His CEO experience includes being CEO of the endpoint security company Seclarity and chairman and CEO of the event management company CEO Software, Inc. He was also CEO and president of Intrinsic Graphics and Turbolinux, as well as CEO and president of Artisoft, a public company.

"Network Chemistry is recognized as the technology leader by companies looking to protect themselves from wireless attacks," said Lou Ryan, chairman of the board. "The company's sales momentum and leading position as an innovator have enabled it to attract Paul Thomas, who's a proven leader and CEO. Paul is known for his strategic vision and corporate development capabilities and we look forward to further capitalizing on the growing market opportunity."

"The explosion in the adoption and use of wireless technology forces a complete rethinking of enterprise security," said Thomas. "This creates an enormous market opportunity for solutions that can help enterprises secure critical data by protecting themselves from wireless attacks and meeting compliance and regulatory mandates. I'm pleased to join a great team at Network Chemistry and to further capitalize on this opportunity while remaining focused on providing the highest quality products and services to our growing customer base."

This change comes on the heels of Network Chemistry's most successful year to date in terms of customer and revenue growth. During 2005, Network Chemistry released RFprotect Endpoint to secure enterprise laptops from wireless threats and grew its customer base in key vertical markets -including financial services, health care, technology, manufacturing, and government agencies. In addition, the company spearheaded the industry's first database to catalogue and name wireless vulnerabilities and exploits (www.wirelessve.org).

Network Chemistry's patent-pending technology and RFprotect family of products provide a complete solution that seamlessly integrates with enterprise network, WLAN, and security systems. RFprotect Distributed is a wireless vulnerability assessment and rogue/intrusion prevention system for protecting against wireless threats in and around enterprise facilities. RFprotect Endpoint protects mobile devices on the road by actively enforcing policy to thwart threats and prohibit risky wireless configurations. Finally, RFprotect Mobile is a portable laptop-based analyzer for automating site surveys, security assessments, and incident response.
