Mar. 14--Running Horse Golf & Country Club will host a future PGA Tour event, and a news conference has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Thursday to make it official.
Running Horse officials said PGA Tour representatives will be on hand for the announcement. It is expected that the event will be in fall 2007. Running Horse is a Nicklaus Design course being built around a housing development in west Fresno. It is being designed by Jack Nicklaus II with help from his father and is scheduled to open in the fall.
The tournament is expected to be a benefit for California veterans. A California Veterans Home is being built on Running Horse property. The news conference will be at the driving range at Kearney Boulevard and Marks Avenue.
