Russia Agrees to Provide Nuclear Fuel to India

[Newsreader] In the first sign of end of India's nuclear isolation, Russia has agreed to supply nuclear fuel for country's Tarapur Nuclear Power Plant. An External Affairs Ministry spokesman said in the capital this evening that Moscow has already notified the Nuclear Suppliers Group regarding the supply to the Tarapur's safeguarded units one and two.
[Navtej Sarna, in progress] ...India's request, Russia has agreed to supply a limited amount of, quantity of uranium fuel for the safeguarded units one and two of the Tarapur Atomic Power Station and this supply of fuel will enable the plant to continue to operate in safety and provide much-needed electricity to the western power grid of the country.
