Mar. 16--H.E. Butt Grocery Co. on Wednesday recalled its entire H-E-B baby food line after the company received customer reports of pieces of glass being found inside several baby food jars, according to a news release.
There were no reports of injuries associated with the products.
The company received three reports originating from Houston and Corpus Christi and involving jars of H-E-B peas, carrots and applesauce, said Marcie Cases of H-E-B public affairs. She said nothing has been reported at any San Antonio stores.
As of Wednesday afternoon, all H-E-B baby food was removed from store shelves statewide. The food will be shipped back to the quality-assurance lab to be tested, according to the news release.
"Though these reports have been isolated to just a few products in the H-E-B baby food line, as a company, we are committed to absolute and complete food safety," Winell Herron, H-E-B group vice president of public affairs, said in the release. "As a result of that commitment, coupled with the fact that we are dealing with a children's product, we have made the decision to pull all of our H-E-B baby food from our shelves."
Customers can return the H-E-B baby food and Mom's Organic Choice products for a full refund.
