G8 energy minister gather in Moscow to discuss energy security MOSCOW, March 16 (Xinhua) -- The energy ministers from the Group of Eight (G8) gathered here Thursday to discuss energy security problems.
Issues such as stability of supply and demand and alternative fuels were high on the agenda of the meeting.
In his remarks to open the talks, Russian energy Minister Viktor Khristenko said "Massive investments will be needed to create an effective system of global energy supply resistant to shocks."
Khristenko urged all parties to work toward producing a comprehensive and forward-looking energy action plan.
