Officials Consider Methane Gas-to-Electricity Power Plant at Wicomico County Landfill

Public Works and renewable energy officials are considering a methane gas-to-electricity power plant at Wicomico County's Newland Park landfill to replace a flaring process used to burn off methane
. Ingenco Wholesale Power LLC, of Richmond, Va., wants to start construction on a 6-megawatt energy plant in August. Methane gas is generated from decomposed solid waste and the conversion process would generate enough electricity for as many as 6,000 homes.Source: The Daily Record (Baltimore)
