Product Recall

The following recall has been announced:
Packages of filled Easter egg candies made by the Anthony-Thomas Candy Co. because they may contain undeclared egg whites and the food colorings yellow No. 5 and yellow No. 6.
The Columbus, Ohio, company is recalling 6-ounce and 12-ounce packages of the candy eggs filled with coconut cream, peanut butter, butter cream, fruit and nut, chocolate fudge, chocolate fudge pecan, and maple walnut fudge. They bear production code numbers 6027 through 6083.
They are sold in a cardboard package with a clear cellophane top panel and were distributed through retail stores between Jan. 27 and March 27 in Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Egg whites are an ingredient in the decorative flowers on the products.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the candies.
The company said no illnesses have been reported.Customers who bought the candies can return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Those with questions may contact the company at (877) 226-3921.
