ARUSHA: The Tanza-nian government has banned plastic bags and ordered people to stop farming and logging on Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, among other environmental measures. The ban on plastic bags and bottles will take effect in October so that businesses have time to find alternatives, said Vice President Ali Mohamed Shein. He said it was “necessary to protect our rapid degrading environment”.
