Shelby Man Charged With Assault, Gun Possession

Charges: Assault on a female (M), possession of a stolen firearm (F), possession of a firearm felon (F), carrying a concealed weapon (F), resist, obstruct, and delay officers (M), altering or removing serial number (M)

Bond: Duncan is being held at the Cleveland County Detention Center without bond Description: According to police records, officers arrived at 215 Best St. No. 15 Sunday evening with arrest warrants for Duncan stemming from what police say was an instance of assault on a female. Duncan was on the phone when police arrived and refused to hang up.

Duncan told officers they had no right to be in the apartment and tried to walk to the back of the apartment but was taken into custody.

The report said police found a black handgun that had been reported stolen at the scene. The serial number on the gun, a Ruger 9mm, appeared to have been scratched with the intent of removing it.
