Apr. 10--OSAKA -- Osaka Gas Co. said Monday it plans to buy an additional 920,000 tons of liquefied natural gas a year from Malaysia LNG Sdn. Bhd. for 15 years, starting in April 2009.
Pending final arrangements, the deal would be the third contract between Osaka Gas and Malaysia LNG and would raise Osaka Gas's total LNG purchase from Malaysia to 1.6 million tons per year, the Japanese company said.
Malaysia LNG has its plant in Bintulu, Sarawak, with total production of some 23 million tons annually, serving mainly Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, Osaka Gas said.
