Spire Offers 25 Megawatt Turnkey Solar Cell Production Line
Posted on: Tuesday, 11 April 2006, 12:00 CDT
Spire Corporation (Nasdaq: SPIR) introduces a 25 megawatt solar cell production line, the SPI-Line(TM) 25C, as the newest offering in its line of solar integrated manufacturing systems. The new production line was developed in response to the needs of customers as the market for solar energy continues to grow.
The new turnkey manufacturing line includes all the equipment needed to produce silicon solar cells with an annual output of 25 megawatts. This cell production line complements the Company's integrated manufacturing systems for producing solar photovoltaic modules and silicon wafers. Silicon wafers are a key component used in the manufacture of solar cells, which in turn, are a key component of solar modules. By offering balanced production lines for each step in the total manufacturing process, Spire's customers can integrate production capabilities onto the front-end or back-end of an existing manufacturing line.
Roger G. Little, Chairman and CEO of Spire Corporation, said, "Every Spire production line is developed using our expertise in solar manufacture and design. Our integrated manufacturing system not only includes equipment with imbedded processes, but also comprehensive training, process technology, automation and support."
