China now has an array of technologies to help solve heavy water pollution problems, thanks to a far-sighted 3-year investment.

China invested more than one billion yuan, about $125 million, in research to develop water pollution control. Now, it’s paying off, the Xinhua news agency says.

The major achievement includes technologies that can improve overall aquatic environment at lakes and restore the ecological balance after they are heavily polluted.

These technologies, currently in use in 11 cities, are regarded as essential for solving the lake pollution problem.
