AIBS Hires Education and Outreach Program Manager

AIBS is pleased to announce that Susan Musante has keen hired as AIBS education and outreach program manager. Musante has been a faculty and curriculum programs manager for the American Society for Microbiology and an education and outreach program manager for the Ecological Society of America. She holds a master's degree in education and has taught K-12 science classes. In addition to her work at AIBS, she continues to work part-time as managing editor of the Ecological Society of America's Teaching Issues and Experiments in Ecology Web site (www.ecoed.net/tiee).
Among other activities in 2004, Musante will work on a joint project between AIBS and the National Research Council (NRC) on follow-up activity related to NRC's 2003 report BIO2010: Transforming Undergraduate Education for Furore Research Biologists. She will also be involved in planning an AIBS symposium on evolution education at the annual meeting of the National Association of Biology Teachers this fall.
