MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia launched an unmanned spaceship on Monday to carry food and equipment to the International Space Station, mission control said.
The Progress M56 cargo ship took off successfully from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, which Russia rents from its former Soviet neighbor.
It was scheduled to dock in two days at the space station, where Russian cosmonaut Pavel Vinogradov and U.S. astronaut Jeffrey Williams have been living since their arrival earlier this month. They have a six-month stint in orbit.
