Posted on: Tuesday, 2 May 2006, 09:01 CDT

GlobeTel Communications Corp. (AMEX: GTE) today announced that Eric Heininger, one of the aerospace industry's pre-eminent structural engineers, has joined Sanswire Networks, LLC as Senior Design And Structural Engineer.

Mr. Heininger is a hands-on engineer with extensive experience in the fast-paced design and construction of lightweight hi-efficiency vehicles, ranging from man and rocket powered aircraft to high altitude UAVs, missiles, space station and spacecraft. He has worked on several high-impact projects, including the international Space Station structure with SANDAIRE- San Diego Aircraft Engineering, NASA and the US Air Force, and General Atomic's RQ-1 Predator Unmanned Air Vehicle. He has also worked with leading aerospace companies including Aerovironment Inc., Pyramid Space Inc., Volt Technical Services Inc. and Alliance Technical Associates Inc. as a structural engineer, structural dynamicist, aeronautical engineer, project manager, and Senior Design Engineer.

"Eric brings even bigger muscle to the already strong Sanswire team," stated Timothy Huff, Chief Executive Officer of GlobeTel. "Sanswire's Stratellite has sparked the imagination of the aerospace industry and this interest has provided growth opportunities and prospective new business. Adding a high caliber professional like Eric to the Sanswire team augments our ability to achieve faster turnaround times and execute more of our strategic initiatives."

Robert Jones, President of Sanswire, stated, "Eric brings analytic and practical abilities in aerodynamics, composites, advance structures, fabrication, maintenance and superb out of the box thinking. I've witnessed Eric literally design a concept and conduct analysis on a napkin, leading to the configuration and construction of aerospace systems and products. In addition, his extensive telecommunications and electronics design and testing background for the commercial electronics market is bolstered by his personal network of world class contacts in aircraft design and systems, electronic and electrical systems, and rapid prototyping. This will be valuable to Sanswire as we seek additional expertise to optimize and expedite specialty areas of development."

About Sanswire Networks, LLC

Sanswire is developing a Wireless Broadband Network utilizing high-altitude airships called stratellites, which are similar to satellites but stationed in the stratosphere instead of in orbit. Stratellites will be used to provide wireless voice, video, and data services. The Stratellite is being designed and tested to operate at an altitude of between 55,000 and 65,000 feet utilizing onboard Guidance and Navigation Control (GN&C) to achieve its on-station position.

At an altitude of only 13 miles, each Stratellite will have clear line-of-site to an entire major metropolitan area and should allow subscribers to easily communicate in "both directions" using readily available wireless devices. Each Stratellite will have hybrid electric motors powered by solar cells, other state-of-the-art power generation systems and energy storage technologies.

In addition to Sanswire's Wireless Broadband Network, proposed telecommunications uses include cellular, 3G/4G mobile, MMDS, paging, fixed wireless telephony, HDTV and others. For more information, please go to www.sanswire.com or www.globetel.net.
